That was more like it. Intensity both in and out of possession. Quick passing. Shots on goal. Movement off the ball. That's what West Ham fans have been asking for - and in the 4-2 win over Brentford we got it.
There has been an element of bemusement among neutral fans and pundits that West Ham supporters have been unhappy with David Moyes of late.
People look at it from the outside in and immediately conclude that we've had no right to moan. That we should just know our place and essentially stop asking for better. We were being told that we should just accept a negative style of football and be happy about it, because we have no right to want better.
But the performance against Brentford was proof we can have better - and that better can also lead to results.
The display was the complete opposite of what we've been served up since the turn of the year. It wasn't perfect - defensively we were still very shaky - but in attack we were quick, intense, ruthless and a lot of fun to watch.
That kind of approach won't always get us results, but it will always give us a chance. If we lose playing like that, fans would be far more accepting than how we've been losing games up to this point.
The key thing now is building on it.
It's no secret that Lucas Paqueta's return from injury will play a huge part in that. We haven't won a league game this season in which he hasn't featured. Couple that with Jarrod Bowen's electric return to the goals and there's a platform there to turn our season around.
With the Europa League returning next week, it may have come at the perfect time.
